IJF World Kata Championship Paris, France November 8-9, 2025

World Champions!

Brynn and Haley and Coach Rob went off to Paris this week for the IJF World Kata Championships. Haley and Brynn competed in Ju no Kata (Forms of Gentleness) in the under 21 category and Coach Rob was acting as the team manager for the entire US kata team.

On Sunday morning, they competed in the preliminary round and were second out of 15 teams after that round. This moved them ahead to the final round of six finalist teams that afternoon. They were the first to go and that was that, they came off the mat with a very high score and the other teams were chasing them for the rest of the afternoon but none were able to catch up to Brynn and Haley. The ended up with gold.

They were the only US team to medal this year and if they had competed in the open division they would have been in fourth place by one point. Truly they did an amazing job and congratulations to them and all their supporters!
