USA Judo Senior Nationals Birmingham, AL May 24-25, 2025

Over Memorial Day Weekend the USA Judo Senior Nationals was held. Representing Shipyard Judo were Brynn and Haley in the kata (forms) portion. Coach Rob went along to support them.

Haley and Brynn competed in Ju no Kata (Forms of Gentleness) in two divisions: the Under 23 category and the Open category. This was their first time competing in the Open category at Nationals and their third time competing in the Under 23 category. Once again, they earned gold in the U23 group, making that three years in a row; three-time national champions! Almost as impressive was their performance in the Open group this year. They earned silver in their first ever appearance at Open.

Their scores in both divisions are enough to qualify them for World’s competition in Paris later this year. They will just need to wait and see if they are invited to represent the United States at that event.
