Itsutsu no Kata Clinic Eugene, OR September 30, 2023

On September 30, six of our instructors traveled to Eugene, OR to partake in a kata (forms) clinic. These kata are prearranged movements which a team of two judo practitioners showcase techniques, principles, and/or philosophies of judo. The Itsutsu no Kata is a series of movements that emulate forces of nature. A big part of judo is continuing to learn throughout one’s judo career. Practicing and learning from kata are great ways to increase judo knowledge and to become a more knowledgeable instructor.

The clinic took place at the dojo of our friends at Best Martial Arts Institute. We thank them for hosting the event and for bringing in a team of former world champions and their coach to share their knowledge with us all.
