2023 Future Stars 19 Judo Championships Rainier, WA December 10, 2023

This weekend we had three of our younger students travel up to Washington to compete. This was a 16 and under beginners tournament and was a great way to introduce two of our kids to the judo competition experience. This was Dizzy’s second tournament since October and for Kellen and Joss, it was their first time. Coaches Eric and Clayton went up as support.

Joss starting things off for us and ended up going 1-2, winning her second match with a pin but losing the other two by decision. However, it was good enough to ensure she placed third in the division. Next up was Kellen who opened up both of his first two matched with huge hip throws. Unfortunately he was be pinned in his last two matches and also earned second place in his division.

Dizzy was last to go and she had a rough go of it. She ended up competing against a larger opponent and during their second match injured her arm. She was unable to continue the rest of the tournament. Luckily it turned out to only be a sprain and not a fracture as originally believed.

We are proud of all our athletes.
